Seasonal Allergies

Seasonal allergies are irritating to say in the least, going around sneezing your brains out, crying into hankies or blowing your horn every few minutes can make one very weary and after laying down unable to sleep because the nose clogs up. This very issue comes around every year for Mr. Norseman, a pollen allergy for the very trees surrounding the house, the yellow pine. Through some trial and error we found a native plant that grows on our property beside these lovely but "dangerous" pines, to help combat his spring discomforts, almost to the point that he is unaware he is dealing with it still.

This plant is the hardy, perennial known as yellow goldenrod. Commonly seen by roadsides, waste areas and in areas where there is poor ground, it does not need a lot of water to do well. This plant is also a major pollen source for honey bees and other insect pollinators in the fall.

Our preparation for this plant is to harvest, dry, pick off all leaves and flowers, and a minimum of 30 days macerating in vodka to be strained, bottled, labeled and stored for future use (every spring). The end product is called an herbal tincture and it is taken 4 times a day at a dose of 3ccs or 3mLs held under the tongue for 30 seconds before swallowed. At such a rate, a normal person cannot get a high/low or even a resemblance of drunkenness, allowing for full motor capabilities and even driving without ill effects.

As always, this product is not listed to "heal", "treat" or "cure" and is not backed by the FDA, CDC or any other three-letter government organization that I know of. I am not a doctor nor presume to be. I do have a fervent hope that it could help others find relief naturally rather than a prescribed pill that has a long list of potential side effects. The human body is incredibly unique, none two the same. What works for one person may not work or work at the same level for another. If you have a natural remedy that you like/use and find it works for you or have an idea that you are interested in trying or something you would like to see in our store, please feel free to share! Also, snide note... this product contains... alcohol...

This tincture will be made available in our store very soon, keep your eyes peeled for our new arrival!
