Our 
Story

At Norsemen Ranch we are a small family run ranch that is continually working to be self sufficient in as many ways as we can. We believe that we were blessed with this property and are called to work and improve the land the best we can. This comes with knowledge passed down from generations before us. Our land started out heavily wooded with very minimal grassland or suitable ground for a garden let alone livestock. We have been practicing regenerative ranching on our land for four years now. Clearing timber and improving the land to bring it back to what it would have naturally been. For those of you that are familiar with the Ozarks know how much fun that is with the wonderful rocks that infest all areas of the earth. 

We raise a small group of livestock which are mainly chickens and a couple horses right now. The chickens are our way of providing clean food from eggs and meat. We do not like to be unaware of what is in our food from the grocery stores. We are constantly working to improve our garden which always seem to have new additions from vegetables, herbs or fruit trees. Everything we grow is either eaten, used in herbal remedies, preserved or traded with our neighbors for things that we do not currently have.

In the near future we are looking to expand our operation to a dairy cow, meat cows and some little piggies. Along the way in our blog we may share some of our experiences, the funny, the frustrating or even some recommendations that we have found to work.

The woodworking is a hobby that was born out of necessity. With a construction background it only made sense to make the products, in which you see ourselves. In the long run they are not only practical but it also saves money to make it ourselves. At times we may share the build process which do not worry it won't be the videos you see of someone that has thousands of dollars of tools that very few people have. We use lots of hand tools and get creative with what we have.

Through it all we are a husband and wife team that believe firmly in making what the Lord gave us better everyday. It is without question the most difficult thing we have done but also the most awarding. As we grow, it is our prayer that it can help those around us and ultimately the generation that we will leave behind us to take over our work one day.
