Community Page What is it??

So, this blog is going to be a bit different, it is not going to have any funny stories, ridiculous circumstances that have happened to me (yes I know most of you enjoy those). It is not going to have projects that are being done and it won't really have any advice on how to do something. I know that may seem like a surprise but the only thing it is going to attempt to do is explain the community page on our website and to give you a few reasons why you should join. It will share a vision, maybe its a fools vision but hey, all great ideas started somewhere and most people thought it was dumb in the beginning besides the one person that drove to make it happen.

For those of you that have frequented our website you know that there is a page that is specifically called the community page. For those of you that may be just visiting for the first time now you know there is one. When you jump on that page you will notice that there are companies listed. Yes, yes, some of them are separate companies that we operate but not all of them. Actually the goal is to eventually to have many different companies on the website. Not just a few but that is where these type of things start.

So you may ask what is the community page? That is a great question. To put it simply it is a place where a local business or businesses that will serve the local area of the southern Ozarks can be showcased. It is a place where visitors to our website can go and look at one area for many different types of business and they may just find one that fits their needs.

The next question that is asked is what is the point? The point is to connect people with someone who owns their own business that is honest, hardworking and has the ability to complete job to the best of their ability. That is it, there is nothing hidden, a secret agenda or anything along those lines. There are so many people in our little community that do good work but for some reason no one can find anyone to do ---- fill in the blank with whatever they need done. Or even worse they find someone that rips them off, does a poor job and leaves the person in need in an even worse position.

That is where the idea of this came from. I was so tired of going to do a job for client and hearing the horror stories of companies stealing down payments, never showing up, ruining projects or simply being someone who was not honest and true to their word. Honestly out of all qualities there is nothing that frustrates me or makes me not want anything to do with someone then when they lack integrity. So that is where this page got started.

The vision is to have a powerhouse of a wide range of companies that people can trust to get their job done. To have people know that there is a local person that hosts these business and thinks, "I need to go to The Norsemen Ranch's page because they may have a recommendation for what I need." Also, we as a society have to realize that those that we do life with aka the community are the ones that we can count on when times are tough. It is not the big conglomerate companies that we all know (I am not naming names but you know who I am talking about). These companies all have hidden agendas, utilize your money for things that should not be and ultimately get the rich richer and keeps the common person like you from moving forward and being successful.

For those of you locals remember the tornado that ripped through the southern Ozarks? Who showed up to clear debris and offer their help? It was not the big companies, the government or even the churches. It was your neighbors, individual people in your community. They came and helped with whatever they could, sacrificing their time and days to help those in need. These are the types of people we want to connect the community too. The ones who care and will be there when you need them most.

So hopefully you're at least slightly interested and should be asking what does The Norsemen Ranch get out of this because come on they must be getting something. That is at least the natural question. Let's be honest, there is almost no one that I can say that does something for nothing or just out of the desire to help someone out. Yes, I know that is cynical of me to suggest but if we were honest with ourselves I think we would agree. I am not saying there are not good people but for the most part in life people do something because they are getting something they need or want. It is simple, you do something I need or could use so I hire you and pay you in money or trade of equal value for what you have. We both walk away happy because we got what we wanted or needed. There is nothing wrong with that.

So I am not going to pretend and tell any of you that we get nothing from having a business on our page. That would be a lie. What I will tell you is what we get is exposure. We want our website and business to get in front of more people and more of an audience. It is simply having your business on our site, it encourages you to look at our website and also share it with those you know. We have a few things that we do. With every company we alternate with a weekly post of highlighting them out to our network. We do a social media blast as we call it for that individual. We ask in return that you share what we post. Best part is once a month for the betterment of your business we are asking you to share that as well. That seems too good to be true. Someone else sharing your business and reminding you to market your own business. Now some business' may ask what happens if we do not have a social media? That works too, let us market our website in your place of business, with a flyer, a card or whatever works for you. If you have a website, giving us a small place on yours works great too. Lastly if you just want a standard marketing platform where you do nothing other then pay a fee like a newspaper and you get what you get we can talk about that too. Trust me if that is what you would like we will be more cost effective then any other place you can market.

What would I charge? Actually I would prefer not too. I would rather the joint and agreed sharing to be the avenue. The thing is I do not agree with something for nothing, so simply put if you want on the website and agree to share out stuff you will get more from us I can guarantee that. So if you agree to share our website however you choose then there is zero charge.

One other worry I will address just in case, is that if you decide that the community page is the right place for you we do not control the leads, the clicks or anything that leads to you. Each business that goes on our page is unique and approved by the business owner. The number is yours, the email is yours and if you have social media if it is clicked on it takes the visitor to your social page. Same goes if you have a website it takes them to your sight. We do not even see who visits your page, we do not know if they call you and we do not ask for a finders fee.

I know this may be something that some of you may be sceptic about. May even think that it may never work. That is fine go ahead think that way, but let me ask you this what does it hurt to have your business on ours? What does it hurt to share someone else's business and help out each other in the community? I think we can all agree that the answer is that it won't hurt anything.

To see others in the community start to get their name out and connect with potential clients. Building a relationship that can strengthen our community for the days to come.
